Hüzünlendim

Pencere yari acik,
kullagim rüzgarin sesini dinlemekte,
kalbide ise sen!!!

Seni düsünüyorum,
kafam karisiyor,
bilmedigim bir duygu
beni pencereye cekiyor

Hasret

Senden uzaklarda geçmiyor günler
Duygu hasret, gönül hasret, ben hasret.
Hasret ile yapılmakta düğünüm.
Sevdam hasret, yürek hasret, ten hasret.

Yar olur geceler, duygular düşte
Bana inat tüller her gün cümbüşte
Hayat denen şu karmaşık dövüşte
Durum hasret, gidiş hasret, hal hasret.

Gönül çetrefilli kızsan usanmaz
Kalemler kırılmaz yazsan usanmaz
Aldırış etmesen sussan usanmaz
Gönül hasret, yazı hasret, söz hasret.

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

On White Moderates

“I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Councilor or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.”

Guerrilla Cyber Student Protest

For a few days now, I’ve been extremely fascinated by the Student Protests in the UK. Because the budgetary cuts that the government proposed, including the educational cuts, already weeks ago will destabilize UK society. But at the same time it didn’t look like there would be a large opposition. This happily all changed last week with the Demolition March and the “Millbank Occupation”. There is opposition! And the protest against the ridiculous plans of the government was started by the Students! And with news pouring in of protests all over the UK (at Universities, Community Centers, etc.) and National Protest Days being organised it is clear that the momentum is NOW.

To keep that momentum going, give all those activists on the field a big thumbs up and give the protests a cyber touch some friends whispered in my ear to try to “organise” something. That something could be very Guerrilla, fun, organic and pseudo-anarchistic, all depending of the persons interested in taking part (suggestions are coming up with slogans, editing pics, making funny vids, setting up fake websites, coming up with tags, etc). Anybody interested? Give me a shout on danielnobody(at)riseup.net or skype: danielnobody

Manipulation and Demolition

Like any self-respecting Tory-backing sewer newspaper The Sun, The Daily Mail and Telegraph immediately jumped on the bandwagon of demonizing the students/protestors taking part in the Millbank tower occupation. By publicizing the protestors pictures the newspapers have fueled the hysteria that supposed “anarchists” had taken a violent control of the demonstration and that the protestors main aim was to disturb “peace” and vandalize property. This not only looks, but is a such a violent manipulation of public opinion and an effort to demolish those students/protestors rights.

Manipulation because there are enough eye-witness reports that tell a different story of the supposed “riots” at Millbank 30 (like this one) and that do not demonize the students/protestors. Demolish their rights because the gutter journalists have not engaged in objective journalism, but simply published pictures with stereotypical right-wing comments demonizing the genuine “anger” that made the students/protestors act in such a manner.

That these “newspapers” are able to do this kind of stuff without any opposition just makes my blood bail. Because this is not how citizens in a democracy should be treated (as the students/protestors) nor informed about (like the public) protests against measures that will affect EVERYBODY in their own private lives.
But maybe we should all take into account Jello Biaffra’s words; Don’t Hate the Media, Be the Media
