Guerrilla Cyber Student Protest

For a few days now, I’ve been extremely fascinated by the Student Protests in the UK. Because the budgetary cuts that the government proposed, including the educational cuts, already weeks ago will destabilize UK society. But at the same time it didn’t look like there would be a large opposition. This happily all changed last week with the Demolition March and the “Millbank Occupation”. There is opposition! And the protest against the ridiculous plans of the government was started by the Students! And with news pouring in of protests all over the UK (at Universities, Community Centers, etc.) and National Protest Days being organised it is clear that the momentum is NOW.

To keep that momentum going, give all those activists on the field a big thumbs up and give the protests a cyber touch some friends whispered in my ear to try to “organise” something. That something could be very Guerrilla, fun, organic and pseudo-anarchistic, all depending of the persons interested in taking part (suggestions are coming up with slogans, editing pics, making funny vids, setting up fake websites, coming up with tags, etc). Anybody interested? Give me a shout on danielnobody(at)riseup.net or skype: danielnobody

life and reincarnation of something silly

Silly. It’s a word that has been on the tip of my tongue for the last few weeks as it had such a nice ring to it. I sometimes even wanted to shout it out as loudly as i would possibly could. As it reminds me of moments that were flooded with some sort of inner peace, a happiness that came from little moments of joy. And it seems like there isn’t much time these days for those little silly things. Since it looks like we have officially entered into the age of serious with crisis’ on various fronts like the climate, the economy and politics.
It as such shows more obviously than ever before that seemingly there isn’t much left to be silly about. Whilst it was not so in what seems to be a little while ago.
Then being silly just came natural because it looked like there was very little to worry about. Of course there were serious issues to be battled out, opinions to be defended, relationships to be maintained and other things that seem like crap considering this should be a blog post about “silly”.
But nothing compares to this day and age where everything seems to consist out of crap that brings around fear. And not even Obama as president of the big mighty USA can change that fear into hope for a better future.
That brings me to the assumption that maybe there is one possible antidote to fear and that might be being silly once in a while. Maybe it is even necessary to survive these harsh times.
