Hüzünlendim

Pencere yari acik,
kullagim rüzgarin sesini dinlemekte,
kalbide ise sen!!!

Seni düsünüyorum,
kafam karisiyor,
bilmedigim bir duygu
beni pencereye cekiyor

The Young Man and the Sea

As it was once predicted by a fortuneteller he visited whilst in Beirut this would be it. A stop in what seemed like a life with no pause for a breather. But there she was. The sea in all its grandness.
The waves trying to crush the rocks. His hair played by the wind. Her eyes on the horizon. His whole body trying not to fall down the cliff. Not yet at least.

Bilderberg 2010 – power to the people

Last week the Bilderberg group had its annual meeting in Sidges, Catalonia like they had one last year in Athens and the last 56 years all over the world. The Bilderberg Group is a meeting of the supposedly most “powerful” people when it comes to politics, media and industry. It says a lot that in this day and age these meetings are being held both quite openly but never the less nontransparent. Openly because the world (or at least the part that cares for it) knows about it existence. But nontransparent as the outside world doesn’t know what is talked, discussed about and most probably decided at these meetings. And that is quite worrying in a time where even governments and parliaments are not very transparent in their decision making and not acting on the mandate that the the electorate has given them. Then it’s only the question whether a group consisting of these same politicians put together with the “top shots” of industry and media are acting in the best interests of we, the people. Because if ever we should have learned lessons from big international gatherings discussing the faith of the Globe, like any G8, G20, World Bank, IMF and most recently the UNFCC meeting in Copenhagen that it has a negative outcome for the needs of a society where there’s a hint of democracy, environmental protection, an economy that not only respects the big bucks, etc..
Therefor these “openly secretive” meetings are dangerous for the future of a fair world we should all be striving for as human beings.
And that’s exactly what activists from all over the world have been trying to tell the world by protesting outside the meeting place of the Bilderberg Group and through every communication tool available in this digital era. And then there’s only the question left is the one of who was listening to their concerns.

life and reincarnation of something silly

Silly. It’s a word that has been on the tip of my tongue for the last few weeks as it had such a nice ring to it. I sometimes even wanted to shout it out as loudly as i would possibly could. As it reminds me of moments that were flooded with some sort of inner peace, a happiness that came from little moments of joy. And it seems like there isn’t much time these days for those little silly things. Since it looks like we have officially entered into the age of serious with crisis’ on various fronts like the climate, the economy and politics.
It as such shows more obviously than ever before that seemingly there isn’t much left to be silly about. Whilst it was not so in what seems to be a little while ago.
Then being silly just came natural because it looked like there was very little to worry about. Of course there were serious issues to be battled out, opinions to be defended, relationships to be maintained and other things that seem like crap considering this should be a blog post about “silly”.
But nothing compares to this day and age where everything seems to consist out of crap that brings around fear. And not even Obama as president of the big mighty USA can change that fear into hope for a better future.
That brings me to the assumption that maybe there is one possible antidote to fear and that might be being silly once in a while. Maybe it is even necessary to survive these harsh times.
