Although I’m still in awe from her “This is the first time I feel proud to be American” comment during the Presidential election campaign, I’m really not getting why this is news worthy when Congress has been overtaken by Tea Naggers.

Is hope really dead?
After watching no television whatsoever for year as 1) I didn’t actually own a tv 2) Didn’t have the time to sit down and be static and 3) actually wanted my brain to function. And suddenly I was there in a beach house, a flat screen and a gazillion television channels broadcasting from all over the world. Staying in true American (or dare I say Californian) spirit, my finger blocked when I turned on Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. And I was fascinated. To say the least.
Everybody taking part in this digital era of course knows Paris Hilton. She’s well known as a socialite (how the fck do I know that word?) who’s already rich and famous as fck because of her last name and ties to those ridiculously overpriced hotels, the fun she makes of herself (although that’s not always clear to everybody) and running a Presidential Campaign (mostly brought up by McCain taking a cheap dig at Obama’s celeb endowments).
But it seems she has topped it all by starring and producing Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. The show in itself is one ridiculous fest of semi-women and -men trying to win over the heiresses heart by boozing it up and letting the drama explode off the screen. This of course in greasy reality show slices fed to the viewers should become a TV hit. A true show for those who need to turn their brain off for a moment and enjoy everything in life that seems filled with superficial emotions. Entertainment in its most brainless manner. But then again even Nero said; Plays for the people and they will be kept happy, silent and non-responsive.
It leaves me wondering if this is really what globalization is good for? To export all this American crap to the whole wide world? American numbness of the mind to keep the world … (you can fill that in yourself).
